Today I shuttered one of my day-job app/scripts after it had been replaced when I was out on my compulsory “vacation”. I had already decided to let go and not feel bad about the arbitrariness of it.
I was actually quite proud of it for a while. I learned a lot about Windows automation, about Powershell and C#. I also learned a bit about script architecture and flow.
You may laugh but I took a minute to say thank-you and goodbye to that script. I developed the first version of it about 8 years ago and made two major revisons/rewrites. It had given me some comfort at times to work on it, here in the middle of the IT grayness.
